Each attorney is an active volunteer within our Colorado communities and beyond. Two of our attorneys, Evan Banker and Linda Chalat, sit on the boards of reputable local organizations, Rocky Mountain Public Media and Legal Aid Foundation. Both of which exist to promote transparency, accountability, accessibility, and inclusivity in Colorado. Evan also works as a volunteer attorney for Rocky Mountain Immigrant Advocacy Network. And since 2017, has worked for Cause Civil Rights and Social Action, providing pro bono immigration legal services to immigrant children and to adults in immigration detention. Russell Hatten is the president of the Sunrise Rotary Club in Highlands Ranch. The Sunrise Rotarians donate time and money to the Help & Hope Center in Castle Rock and to the Integrated Family Community Services in Englewood. While Jim Chalat allocates much of his time as an active mentor, lecturing at Denver and Harvard Law Schools and volunteering for the Colorado State Bar Association’s high school mock trial program.
Additionally, for its pro bono commitment, the firm has been recognized consistently by the Colorado Supreme Court’s Pro Bono Achievement Award. The Award requires each attorney in the firm to volunteer 50+ hours annually to matters benefiting financially disadvantaged clients.
